To kick off Got Zune, we are giving away a Black 80GB Zune 2. This contest couldn't be any easier, well it could be easier, but... ya know.
To win just post comments. The more comments, the better your chances. From now until November 20th, you can comment on our posts here. On November 20th, 2007, I will go into the admin control panel and figure up how many comments we have accumulated and do a random drawing by comment ID for the winner.
To keep folks from spamming comments with "cool post" and "thanks man" comments, I will pass over comments that have no true substance.
It's that simple. Oh, one more thing... Make sure the email address you are posting comments with is valid. This will be the email that I use to notify the winner with.
Stay Tuned, there might be more contests too! We had fun giving away a pink Zune over on Mobilitysite earlier this month.

I’m liking the look of this site, Chris - very web 2.0; very cool. Looks like it has all the ingredients to be a resounding success.
Glad to see a Zune blog. I have been promoting zune for about a year now myself. I got one of the original brown ones and I love it. I so want one of these new 80gb Zunes for myself. I don’t know if you have heard (and I haven’t read all of your blog entries yet) - but apparently on launch day from zune.net they will offer you the option to customize the 80gb - so while black is what they say the only 80gb color will be — that may only be true for retail stores - but apparently you can choose your color from a pretty large pallete and then you can choose something to engrave on it and even an image - up to 25 to choose from. Really awesome stuff. That whole “you make it you” campaign will really come together tuesday. Good luck with the blog. I’m adding this to my list of daily visits alongside Engadget, Gizmodo and others…I used to be on the delldjsite as well - I had one of those. I still think it was an excellent DAP. The scrolling feature on it was nice and I loved the blue backlighting! Anyway - you’ve heard enough from me…good luck man!

I still have yet to pick up an original zune. Although I am looking at getting one from Buy.com or Amazon.com the brown ones for 99.99 cant beat that other then free. I really cant wait to get myself a zune I hate Ipods and think the zune is way better. I am kind of a Microsoft Fanboy lol. So far this blog is looking great cant wait to see more come from it. I am going to have to add it to my quick tabs. I have always wanted to see you make a zune blog.

The Zune 80 is a really good device that I would really enjoy getting. I did some research and it got a 8.3 on Cnet.com and the ipod classic only got a 8.0
Also the Zune has gotten great reviews from other sites such as PC Mag PC World Engaget Cnet and more. GO ZUNE! I hope i win!
i am a previous ipod owner but I like the zune alot better and am now a convert. I would love to get this zune because i have not that money to buy a new zune. Thanks for the contest. I hope i win.

the ipod came closr to making a a ipod that was thouch sensative and full front screen whith the ipod touch do u think that microsoft will try to give it a shot……i would really like one of those

Alot has been made of the “premium” earbuds, how do they sound? This is crucial since there’s no EQ on the device.

The New Zune 80 is a great product that is better than the classic but similar to the touch with cool features. I would love the new zune. PLEASE!
Another cool thing about the Zune 80 is that you can turn off the touch pad and just click it this is very nice.
You can put higher resolution on the zune and not even have to convert it to a 320×240 format it also has a built in 740 x 1200 resolution on tv out. Wow. Good job zune.

The Zune Software had a complete makeover and works very well.
this may sound weird but i listen to music on the 1st gen zune while i sleep but when i woke up they ripped ……they ripped in the middle between when they first separate the wire and were the actuall earphone is…….can anybody tell me hoe u think this could have happened……p.s i have a cat maybe he did it

I have never had this problem before but i know that when you turn on the wifi while listening to music it buzzes a little bit.
no i dont think that u can use the zune 2 as a portable hard drive but there have been hacks that alow you to.
i mean they literally ripped their unusable anymore
Well, I just upgraded my Zune 30 to 2.2 and I am amazed! After the torture that was installing and synching the version 1 software, I was sceptical about all I had heard about upgrading the firmware. But all they said was true!! Thanks, MSFT!

The Zune Premium Headphones come with the zune 80 for free but not with the flash zunes. The zune headphones before the release got possitive reviews for good sound quality. Plus they are magnetic

Yes the Average Wireless Distace is about 50 feet with the zune wifi. But I tested mine from alot farther.
This new zune is amazing, got the new the software and loved it especially playing music with the album art in the background, hopefully i win so i can finally have one.
The Zune 80 in particular has me interested because of the Zune Pad and its screen. The whole fusing touch sensitivity with a D pad sounds great. Even if it doesn’t work out well, you can disable the touch sensitivity. It looks like a blast to use.

I’d get the new Zune80, but I don’t have the money, however, the Zune30 is only like 80 bucks where I might get it from, Heh.

count me in. I have the Zune 30 and love it. I’d love the Zune 80 even more. The new software is a bit limiting in some ways but the Zune community has been very outspoken so hopefully the zune team will hear us load and clear and add (back) new features soon.

I just got done upgrading my zune 30 to the new firmware and everything went smoothly. I sure could use a zune 80 with all the more space.
Oh, ok Jeromy, and I agree, the Zune Surface does sounds like a good idea, but sounds much like a rip-off of the Microsoft Surface, If thats what you pointing out anyways.
Im sure they’re probaly working on it right now though, hahaha.
Personally I think they’re prolly making a phone, like a pocket pda of somesort’s that will be under the Zune name, that will also be a touch screen, if so that’d be awesome!

No they did not cheat the consumers, it was a first generation product, so you were taking a gamble basically. Thats like getting the first generation ipod which was huge, no color screen, small HDD, etc.; and hoping they stuck with it for a few more years to come. I can’t wait to see what Microsoft will churn out next.
Just wait 5 years from now, They’ll already have a flash memory Zune that’s a touch screen, and thats expandable and has more floods of features, thinner, sexier, and they will call this device the Zune360!
Oh and my birthday was just a few day’s ago and all, and well see i didn’t get the new Zune so, winning it would be nice.

My only reservation is the quality of the construction - meaning will it break from a 4inch fall like my Zune 30
? I really liked my original Zune, I even liked the brown brick style, and if what I’m hearing about the quality of this new generation is true, I might put one of these under my own tree this xmas.
I love my zune but I need to get a new one lol. It does not hold all my music, and yes I have the 30gb. It is great for travelling and is much more durable. I just love the feel of it and the screen is amazing.

I am loving my Zune, but I do not care for the software at all. It chokes on my collection… sometimes freezing up the machine for a couple of minutes at a time just navigating around. The newer 2.188 doesn’t seem to be any better than the older software either. I really wish i could just copy files back and forth like a USB drive. I know about the registry hack that allows this, but I wish it could be done natively.
I currently own a Toshiba Gibeat S but it’s almost full, another 20 gb should be just about right (at least for awhile).
