Well, once again I am linking to a nice nugget of info from my buddy Jason over at Zune Thoughts. He has discovered that you can still search dynamically.
When you are in the device or collection tabs, all you have to do is start typing and it will filter down your search. It's not as dynamic as it used to be with the old software, but who needs dynamic? I'd rather the conventional search method anyhow with the search box.
There is one BIG GOTCHA to Jason's find though. It only works in the device or collection tabs. Why is that bad? Simple, the place I most want to search is the MARKETPLACE. This is too bad, maybe this was an oversight on the Zune Team's part.
Anyhow, that's still a cool tip from Jason for those 2 tabs. With a LARGE collection, the search is pretty helpful still.

I never used the dynamic search tool it a cool that it is still there
I mentioned this over on Zune Thoughts. It’s worth mentioning here too.
That’s great, BUT it only works if what you’re searching for starts with whatever you type.
Let’s say you have the song, “Love Me Tender”. If you start typing “Tender”, the old dynamic text would search thru the meta data for all references to what you type.
With the new dynamic search, typing in “Tender” will not locate “Love Me Tender”, it will only take you to song titles starting with “tender”. If no song titles exist that start with “tender” it will take you to the songs that start with the letter “T”.
They really dumbed down this software. Hopefully they’ll be able to smarten it up fairly soon.
We i first saw this i was suprised. NOw I use it all the time. I love how it allows you type the part or the word or the whole word.
I actually just stumbled across that tonight when i accidentally hit a couple keys on my keyboard. Pretty cool, though I can only get it to search for artists, not tracks or albums.
Since I dont really use the MARKETPLACE I dont miss the dynamic search being there.
Hehe, seems like something Id find by complete accident. You have made me want Zune even worse *sighs* Thats nice you just have to have the window up acutally…You dont even have to put your cursor in a field.
I found it becasue I use the dynamic search with the original software. I actually this one better.
I saw that when I first downloaded the software, I love dynamic search, however there isn’t any for Album which is slightly sad.
I would have liked it a bit more if it were global and merely redirected you to the normal search screen (Displaying Artist, Songs, Album, etc.)
