I know Ryan Block personally and I know that he is normally quite fair with his opinions. His initial take on Zune 2 upset me and I thought he had not given it a fair shake. I wasn't the only one, lots of folks flogged him for his assessment. He promised to give it another whirl and he did.
So as we said before: same place, same time in late 2008? Bring your A-game, Zune, and we'll be ready.
I am not surprised. This time Ryan goes through all the features with a better description of why or why not he liked the features.

I agree with his assement of the wifi, but I dont agree about the games. I never thought games on the IPOD were really all great to have.
At least you can actually call this review a review. The first
“review” was definitely not a review. I agree with some of his conclusions, but I think the Zune has some great potential. If the Zune team doesn’t just sit on their butts and listens to the community and makes some tweaks to the firmware and software, then we’ll be seeing a player that will be really awesome.
yeah, hopefully they release newer firmware updates that really makes it rock.
All that matters is what cnet thinks they are the ones that really make the reviews that count
Hell even Leo Laporte likes it. If any of you remember he made a lot of fun of Zune 1. Check this video out it is really funny especially the squirting part

He recently had a podcast on Zune and he really liked the new Zune

Sansa has had similar early firmware issues. Check out he sansa messages to see all of the complaints about the new Sansa View.
if you want a mobile device to play games you’ll buy an ds or psp not a digital media player.
I agree with the part about this review seeming to be a little better thought/written out than the first one. Some of his concerns are solid, but I did not get a Zune to replace my PPC in the PIM and game department. I got it strictly to play music. I would rather have a device that does one or two things great rather than ten things just “OK”.
He was fair in his review. Zune might not be for everybody.
I think i’ll listen to Leo and Kevin Rose before i listen to Ryan
