by far better than the other zune commercials and way better than ipod dancer commercials
It is a good commercial but it looks so much like a teaser. This should have been the commercial on or around the Zune 2 announcement.
Way better than that obscure one trying to emphasize…expression?
Agreed with vaibhavk, should have been released ages ago. I think it’d have increased the hype. Not that there already isn’t one.
The dancing ipod commercials are just stupid
I am in advertising and understand that if something works use it, but how long have they used the dancing commercial . . . It’s old and has used up it’s creative aspect. I like what they are doing with the Zune. Have a few different styles, people are different. They are wanting to attract the differences in all of us.
Apple can do the iPod/iTunes commercials because they have so much brand and product awareness. However, the Zune is new, has little brand equity. Contrast the typical iPod ads - dancing silhouettes - with the iPhone ads, which are almost completely functional. They are introducing a product, showing its features (they did the same with the Feist Nano ad, showing how the Nano had changed - new form factor, video can play).
I think that Microsoft should concentrate more on showing what this can do and less on a lifestyle thing. Saying that, I like this ad much more than the rest of the ads that I have seen. This one goes there.

doogald: agree with you on that. I would rather see an ad that shows what the zune can do. What features it has. I am a firm believer in that simple is better.
They need to do a simple ad that explains why the Zune player is better than anything else out there. Right now the ads are too cryptic. They are nice but cryptic.

Agreed with vaibhavk once again, I dislike cryptic ads. Having said that, this one is quite an improvement over the last one.
I should think that advertising the larger screen and wireless syncing capabilities of the Zune would be quite appealing to the average consumer. It’s what keeps me waiting here patiently in Canada.
Once the commercial got going, it was alright. That said, it took ages before the commercial got to the point. If i saw that on TV I would have changed the channel. The one thing the Ipod ads all have is that they grab your attention. It reminded me of a commercial for furniture or something. Just my 2 cents though.
it’s about time they let one out that you can understand i usually don’t know what they’re talking about in their commercials
