Earlier I posted that I was unhappy about not being able to use my original Zune Dock Cradle with the Zune 80. Well I got a comment from Keith that the folks over at Zune Scene had a suggestion in their forums.
1. Pull on the silver cover of the top of the circular dock.
2. Stick a pin or paper clip underneath and move it around the outside perimeter of the dock.
3. The silver cover should be loose and should come off.
4. With the removal of this facade, there should now be enough room to dock your Zune 80!
Well, I had already taken apart my cradle, but didn't think to try to dock it with the top layer of the cradle off. This guy did and it works!
Read on to see photos of this great find. Thanks Keith.

Hey, i seen alot of ur vids i’m jus wondering, becouse i’m prob going to buy a zune because of watching ur vids lol. Buh i was looking for a zune or an ipod, i dont know whichone to get . I pick the zune =). Well looking at the 4gb,8gb and the new 80gb, which one, u think is the best one as opposed to being my first mp3. i don’t want to spend too much, if you can like help me choose one that’ll be the best. since u have alot many mp3’s lol
Aha! Well thats good. A little on the weird side, but good. And Yay to Keith.
Steven: If it’s your first, I’d recommend you go for the Zune4. It’s got plenty of space, and it’s the cheapest of the new guys. If you don’t mind a little more heft, I’d definitely get a Zune30. They’re the cheapest overall, and they have all the software features of the new units. They’re scratch-proof and have a gorgeous 3″ screen.
The real question comes down to three factors: memory size, physical size, and cost. Go for what you need, and don’t overpay
Actually, the silver cover comes up very easily. Just push in the little tab at the back of the dock for the remote, and the cover can easily be pulled off. No need to force it off.
Wow, i didnt know this. I bought a home AV pack about a month or so ago and am glad to know i could use a Zune 80 with it once i can get hold of one.
