In the past I have had a Sansa Sandisk and a RCA Lyra. The lyra was okay but very limited. The sandisk was cool but eventually it was time to upgrade.

The reason most people think of Ipod when they think MP3 is because of the heavy marketing that Apple has done. They market it as the only real mp3 players. I think most people dont anything beyond IPOD.

Ugh, I hate how everyone says ‘Ipod’. No one even says ‘Mp3 player’ or ‘device’ anymore. Its autimatically dubbed the ipod. And I sorta think itunes rips people off. And I will always dislike the shiny ipod background- Great scheme to get buyers, but very annoying. My things have sorta been:

There are three kinds of people in this world: One can count and one that can’t.

There are two kinds of people in this world: One who splits people into groups, and one who doesn’t.

And then,

There are two kinds of people in this world: Apple and Microsoft.

I actually think Apple’s tend to be more of perfectionists, while microsofts, tend to be more creative/messy. Just a personal thing though I thought I would add.

All the iPod really has is its reputation. I personally dislike its plain interface (which was stolen from Creative). My main gripe with iPods is that you have to update it through iTunes. It’s just way bloated and slow to be used as a primary music player.

My kids all have ipods…and I bought them for them… but I like the Zune better…can’t wait to get my hands on an 80 GB!!

I do not own a Zune yet. I plan on purchasing one to replace my aging (but still functioning) Dell DJ 15.

Wifi sync is a feature I think I’ll get a lot of use of. There are great possibilities if this is implemented well.

The new Zune pad seems more natural for scrolling than the Apple clockwise/counter clockwise wheel. Perhaps it’s just what I’m used to, but I never liked the click-wheel navigation.

Lastly, I’m not a fan boy (girl?) over anything. I just happen to find the new Zunes more appealing than the other players currently available.

I haven’t used zune yet, from what I can gather zune 2 seems to be a reasonable player, but here is my question will the platform, with this new release, reach a point where it can be a serious contender to the iPod monopoly in the pmp market?

My friends call me a Microsoft fanboy but I still am in denial :). I did not like the look of the original Zune as much. I always felt like something was missing. I am also looking forward to the new Marketplace. Hopefully it will be as good as Microsoft showed it in one of their videos.

I wish they had done something similar like XBox where you can change the face cover. That would have been awesome. Oh! well we will have to wait until next november for that.

1)I am a Microsoft Fanboy.
2)I really dislike the Ipods.
3)I do realize that apple makes great products and does it well.
4)I am a person that if I can’t customize it its something that doesnt catch my eye.
5)I unlike some/a lot of people like the case design including the color brown.(I am a earthy tone guy)
6)Zune sounds so much better then Ipod…. Does everything these days have to have the letter i infront of it?
7)Wifi says it all.

Thats all I can come up with at the moment..
