Zune 80 and Zune 30 Video Battery Test Begins
Posted by Chris Leckness on 11/24/072:20am CST, I am starting the Video test on the Zune 30 and Zune 80 to test battery life. Microsoft claims up to 4 hours for each device.
Both devices are fully charged and have been on their cradles for more than 5 hours. The only video on each of the Zunes is Linkin Park, Live in Texas. I ripped this video from my DVD at 25 fps @ 320x240 using SPB Mobile DVD. This is a program I have been using at this resolution on my Pocket PCs and Phones.
Both Zunes have headphones plugged in. The volume is at 10 out of 20 and the brightness is set to high. Since I have only this one video file on the Zunes ( 1:15 Minute Concert ), I will check them on the hour and restart the movie each time.

Im really hoping that the Zune 30 will do better this time, ive been dissappointed the last 2 test.
I have been quite impressed with the Zune 80 figures. I am very interested in the findings. I’m still on the fence of whether to continue to use my Zune30 and wait for the 3rd version of the Zune or take the plunge and buy the 2nd version now. If the Zune 80 does considerably better in these tests, I may take that plunge.

Chris, Have you heard anything about the Zune 16gb being sold to the public this holiday season? cause thats exacly what i need..16GB
I just bought a zune 30 gb. I really like it, however. everytime i goto connect to the zune soft ware on my computer it syncs & causes some of my albums to double or even up to 4 times copy the same song!!!??? it doesn’t do it for all my albums?? so i then have to completely wipe out my devise re-install firm ware 2.2 and then sync it & copy everything over again just to ovoid songs being double or more up… Does anyone know if thats a software problem or did i just get a bad Zune?
