BigDaddyZune Running 2.3 Firmware
Posted by Chris Leckness on 12/18/07I haven't noticed a difference in the time I have been poking around, but it's there. ( I didn't have any issues with 2.2 anyhow )
The upgrade took all of 2 minutes from plugging in to done... This upgrade is optional it says and doesn't start automaticly. You will have to click the settings tab, then device, then finally device update. This is what you should see at that point.
From this point it's automatic... Just don't remove the Zune from your cradle or sync cable.
And we are done!

I didn’t have any issues with 2.2 either, so I haven’t noticed anything either. I’m still having issues with wireless sync, but that’s ok since I don’t really need to sync anything since all my stuff fits on my player. I’m glad that it went smoothly for the both of us and hope it goes smoothly for everyone.

Supposedly, sync speed has greatly increased and FM reception has improved.
I haven’t evn installed it yet but these are the "confirmed" results from testing by others so take it for what you will.
I heard it was also suppose to help battery life on the 30s and 80s. Good to see MS made updating easy.
i had the battery problem on my 80 and didn’t even notice it i left it alone for the weekend in sleep mode and the battery drained but i updated and have seen improvements
Cool. Doesn’t seem all that complicated.
very short update. And I haven’t noticed a difference either.
I was impressed at how fast it went! It literally took only a minute for each of my players to get updated, from download to install. Impressive!
Has anyone noticed any differences?
