Wired did a comparison of the iPod Classic and Zune 80GB
The initial knee jerk reaction is to buy the 80GB iPod Classic. Not so fast, there hotshot. There's also the brand new 80GB Zune 2, which is actually your better bet. The kids are getting a Zune for Christmas, even if they asked Santa for an iPod.
Wired compared the hardware, content, networking, and pricing of the two devices. Wired also created a poll for their blog readers "What do you think, dear reader? Have we lost our mind?"

Yep, voted for Zune. Still good to see the Zune getting it’s props!
I’ve always been a fan of Wired, and I’m glad to see they are backing the Zune. I voted…for the Zune of course.
voted for zune!!!
This isn’t really the exact thread for this, but it’s close enough.
I was reading a review for a new Samsung media player. What excited me most about it was that the reviewer (Crave/Cnet) mentioned the Zune several times as a measuring stick of comparison. So it’s obvious that the 2nd Gen Zunes have made and are making an impact and have features that people are willing to use it as a basis in reviewing other products. I think that this may be one of the greatest steps forward for the Zune to permeate the stranglehold the iPod has had on the market.
That is good to hear. Just happy people are over looking the issues with the 1st gen Zune and giving the 2nd gen a chance.
