GotZune Log On Issues?
Posted by Chris Leckness on 01/30/08Several of you have contacted me via email and comments on posts that you are having troubles logging in or staying logged in. I guess what I should go over how the site logins work now.
When I added the forums, I merged the user table for the blog and the forums. What that means is whatever you use to log in to the forums is now what you need to use to log in to the blog. If you are logged into the forums, you should already be logged into the blog.
So make sure that you don't have separate accounts for each. They should have merged seamlessly if you registered in the forums with the same info you were using for the blog.
In addition, the photo gallery no longer has a separate log in. It uses the same log in that you have in the forums as well.
Those that have contacted me, if this helped, let me know. I am looking into the cause of a couple of your issues too.

Umm, See that’s the problem.. I thought it was the same account… But i’m not signed into the blog I don’t think… Because is there a different form if you logged in? or is it always the temporary form? that’s what I’m confused about..
Chris you are a good man. Again I have no idea when you get any sleep. Only issue I can say that I am having is that at work I can log it and everything is fine. I can upload pics & backgrounds. Once I get home I can log in and everything is fine, but I cannot upload pics & backgrounds. Not sure if maybe I need to log out before I leave work. Thanks for all you do Chris!
I’m logged into the forums, but when I comment on blog posts I get the big blue box that says ‘avoid having to always fill this form out… Register with GotZune’. Firefox autocompletes the form for me, so it’s not a huge issue, but I don’t think I’m logged into the blog. When I click on the link to log into the blog it just takes me to the main page for the forums.
Dcalvaneso: that’s the same problem with me. At least i’m not the only one..
Soccerfreak24: its the same problem with me also so ya you guys are not the only ones.
Adamross55: all good then, I thought I was the only one still filling out temporary forms.. haha. So I had emailed chris a few times asking about it… But it’s probably a very common problem.
soccerfreak24: well i just emailed chris telling him i was still having the problem and i said so did u guys. So hopefully he can fix it for us. Chris can fix anything!
Lol, Chris can fix anything.. And I had also emailed him this. But seriously, like Kaseyart says.. chris must never sleep. I mean, he spends so much time managing this site, helping us, and working on his various other sites… wow.
I know he is so dedicated to his work. He has like 6 sites including this one. He is really there for you when you need his help on something. Thanks chris!

hey guys i had the zune software but then it updated and i tried to update but it said that the digital certificate to validate was invalid and it wont let me download the software now and i already deleted it so i could download the new one PLZZZ help me guys
I had problems downloading it also. I tried a few different ways and none helped. So i ended up calling microsoft and they solved my problems. Call zune support at 1-877-GET-ZUNE (438-9863)
So do I get an invite??? : (

I was trying to fix, but then I thought about it. What is the big deal about merging these databases. It doesnt really offer anything special, so I have seperated it again.
It’s two different logins again.
Never faced any problems logging in either the site or the forums so yeah.But hey if i got to log in again in order to join the forums discussions,not much of a big deal

I GOT MY ACCOUNT WORKING!!!!! hahaha this is awesome.. no more temporary forms 4 me. Posted my official entry into the contest.. and yah, I tried changing my password again.. and it worked this time..
Well i got my account working also! so no more problems for anyone thats great! thanks a lot chris for fixing this problem you the man!
I had the same problems with logging in, but today I was able to get it to work and I’ve been having a ball going through the site, making comments and the like. Thanks for the help!
