Steve Jobs… What a classy dude…
Posted by Chris Leckness on 01/17/08What kind of CEO goes on record calling another man a drunk? Apparently Jobs asked Jim Goldman if Robbie Bach was drunk when told that he was optimistic about the Zune.
I told Jobs that I had sat down with Microsoft's Robbie Bach last week at the Consumer Electronics Show. I mentioned that Bach was particularly optimistic about the new Zune, that it was now a worthy alternative to Apple's iPod.
Asked Jobs: "Was he inebriated? Do you even know anyone who owns a Zune?" Touched a nerve, I suppose. Watch the video we loaded. It's a great exchange.
Oh boy, what a jerk. Way to handle yourself there buddy.

The Dude looks like a Jerk and the Attitude fits.
As I’ve said elsewhere… wow… Apple must be worried. Honestly, I like Apple (Though I have a grudge against the iPod line, hence my purchase of a Zune), but that is undignified. He’ll feel the repercussions of that later on.
Jerk is a mild way of putting it. Way to show your class and respect Steve. Although the Ipod is still leading the war…you never give your opponents bulletin board material. Although Microsoft probably didn’t need this to fuel their fire of taking on the Ipod, I’m sure it will just make them work that much harder to do it. There are people who say that by putting down other companies, it shows you are a little worried about them. Now I don’t know if Steve his; he’s probably not, but I say thank you to him. Part of me is glad he said what he said. Just the fact they mentioned the Zune while interviewing him is a great sign.

But i watched the vid and it didnt seem 2 have NE thing 2 do with zune.. just jobs bragging bout iphone sales, and adding in pretty funny line bout "consumers LOVE our iphone" like Micheal from the office.. if anyone watches it.
I know quite a few people with Zunes, around 15 actually…
But whatever, he is just mad that the Zunes look sweeter than iPods now, and are actually selling well also.

Hm…Seems pretty juvenile…I’m finding new people all the time who own Zunes, and other people who want one….I always hear people comparing the Zune 2 to the iPod touch, when they really aren’t even the same product…The Zune 80 is a competitor to the iPod Classic, which is not as good. Thats why nobody compares them. I don’t have 500 bucks to waste on low storage because I can poke it and it has the internet…Sorry Jobs..
What an ass, this is one of the main reason I refuse to buy apple products, that stank elitist attitude? lots of Mac people have, not all but a good amount, they are some of most pretentious turtleneck wearing people around. Zune rocks!!

well i guess that’s another proof of what apple’s ego has come to….Steve Jobs doing such things proves nothing more than why ignorance should be considered as a "deadly" sin nowdays and especially to such fields,as technology,where ignorance cannot be forgiven.Feel sorry for him.Nothing more and nothing less.It’s just dissapointing to see the mind behind such great creations being,in times,so arrogant and ignorant in the same time…..
wetworker: I would have to agree with you. I work on a Mac at work (graphic design). I have a PC at home and a Zune! Like you said a majority of Mac users are like that (not me, thank god). I love my computer, but that is as far as I will go with Apple. I have not and never will own an iPod. This shows me Jobs is worried about the Zune. His head has now gotten too big to walk through doorways.

Well i guess he just took it as an insult that he said zune is gonna sell well. But steve jobs is actually pretty cool when hes not making rude comments. I mean ipod classic is not as good as zune 80. I am an apple fan and i dont think so.
adamross55 : Steve Jobs makes quite often,if not rude,then "questionable" comments.As for zune 80,i’m neither an Apple nor a MS fan,but i agree with you on zune 80 being better.I’ve written about problems i’ve come across with the classic on another article [mostly hardware issues and the need to go and purchase things i already had for the previous model].
Anyway,Zune 80 > ipod classic anyday [but this is just my opinion]
ps: I gotta admit though that classic’s screen quality seems better when playing a video.

soccerfreak24: yea he does make questionable comments a lot. I guess he really takes it personal if you knock apple products. The ipod classic screen is better because it has the same resolution as the zune 80 but the screen is just smaller so it seems more crisp.
If you sync high quality videos the resolution matters alot less, the bright big screen makes it more enjoyable to watch on the Zune…At least in my opinion….
Shado: well who doesnt want a bigger screen? I just wish ms made it a higher resolution so you didnt have to upload high quality video.
