What is the Zune Social to you? Zune Insider wants to know!
Here is what I had to say on there...
My take is this, the Zune social is a new, hip way of connecting music lovers. If you browse around to a user and see what they are listening to you can accomplish a few things... a) if you already know the music, you can form an idea of the type person they are b) If you don't know the music, you can give it a try and maybe find something you've never heard that you really like. There are tons of lesser known, non mainstream artist that rock.
I can see the social as a way to connect and make new online friends with others that share the same music tastes.
Head over to Zune Insider to post your thoughts. You are welcome to leave them here as well.

Lol, Saw this on his page.. this is what I said :D… "Zune social.. to me is the roots to a music community, it seems as though every time I log on.. I find a new song/band.. lol. Ex: Lake Michigan- Rogue wave.. Listened on your fav’s and bought it 5 min later. :D"
I’m guessing by "Zune Social" they mean the Zune.net forums…and in that case: It’s an alright forum, I’m not very big on the whole letting others see what I listen to thing…and for the real Zune Social: it’s almost not even there…it just kills battery and occasionally I see one or two Zunes around, but usually they aren’t looking at the screen so they never get the songs/pictures…in the future it should be better.
Lol! btw everyone… if you need to clean your zune..(or ipod) you can do it with a banana(just learned this on zune boards) hahah… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfT9qfVkVQM&eurl

Soccerfreak24: wow that video was cool. I might try it with my friends really scratched up nano. I will let u know how it works
adamross55: haha, kk let me know(assuming he lets you do it)
Soccerfreak24: ok ill let u know how it works out. They probably will let me do it, its scratched to hell. Their dog even chewed on it. lol.
I think it has an awful lot of potential, but most of that potential hinges on the Zune becoming a more popular device. I really love the idea of being able to wirelessly send an album to another music enthusiast friend and work and tell them to listen to it on their own time and tell me what they think. Three plays isn’t a terrible limitation before asking that someone buy a song or album for themselves, but what this all needs to work is more Zunes in the wild. So it’s a *really* awesome idea (really. Maybe not for everyone, but certainly for the obsessive music enthusiast. The sort of person who likes sitting down and geeking over music with friends.) for someone who listens to music the way I do, but I don’t think it’s realized its potential yet. I’d like to see it become really popular that way it becomes implemented in other brand’s players as well. I think it’s a very good thing for music.
This looks great but Zune has something about living outside the US. I am in Australia and can’t access Zune Originals either.
That was helpful, Soccerfreak, thanks.
To answer the question at hand, I have indeed joined the Zune Social and have started to participate in it. The greatest thing, for me, is that if you go to a band, it shows you the 5 or so people who’ve played that bands songs the most times, and then it also shows you the other 2 top played artists from that same user. It’s very useful for finding music similar to that which you allready know you like.
