Zune 80 in the Wild
Posted by Chris Leckness on 02/22/08Not that big of a deal, but I had a little encounter with the Zune 80 out in town today. My town isn't all that big, so it's pretty odd to see one around here!
OK, so I pull up to the gas station this morning and I get out of my car. 1st thing I see is a rubber mat on the dash of the car next to me. It was keeping a Zune 80 in place. I wasn't casing out his car or anything, but I also noticed the Gen 2 FM modulator in his back seat. (the rubber Zune pad on the dash comes with this kit)
Luckily the owner of the car pops out of the store as I was walking towards the entrance. I asked him how he liked his Zune and told him about Got Zune. He said that he'll check us out. So, if he does... whatever your name is, tell us what you think of the Zune 80.

That’s pretty kool…I was sitting in my Digital Design class at school and I decided to turn my wireless on just to see if anyone had a Zune[Very large classroom with a lot of people in it] and to my surprise there were 2 Zunes near me. So I send them some stuff and I notice that two people at the opposite corners of the room were looking around and we all saw each other and talked about our Zunes and stuff…one was a chick who had a red 8GB Zune and the other was a guy with a black 8GB Zune, I also see Zunes in people’s hands or I see the earbuds with the magnets on them when I walk through the hallways…There was also a time when some kid was sitting near me and saw me pull my Zune out to change playlists and he was like "Is that a Zune?" and I said "Yeah, wanna screw around with it?" and he was like "Sure." so I let him play around with it and he pulls out his 80GB iPod classic he just got and I could totally tell he liked my Zune way more than his iPod lol.
I’m just loving all these zune stories, hopefully by the time I get my zune there will be even more zune’s out there, and this sort of thing will be a lot more common.
The zune is so awesome! More and more of my friends are getting the zune.
haha yea zune is definetly getting more and more popular.
i broke my red zune 80Gb already.. they are gonna give me a new red zune though >_< stupid me
Tim: How’d you break it!?
I kinda dropped it ONCE only like 3 feets down, then it said it needed to restart, removing all the info on the zune. Then after it was done, it said it had 5.0gb left of free sapce and 7x.0 gb used but there wasnt anything on the zune so..

oh dude that sucks! well at least they are giving u a new one. I thought accidents werent covered in the warranty.
Well, maybe Microsoft felt sorry for Tim. It was a limited edition too, so maybe that’s why they’re giving him another red zune.
yea i was wondering about that. Cause it was a limited edition. I wonder how many more they actually have incase they get broken
Do you think if someone got the red zune engraved, Microsoft will make an identical zune to replace the broken one?
they told me if they can’t fix it they will give me the same color with the same picture and the description

So i’ve been super psyched about my zune 80 gig… second day i had it, it completely crapped out on me…. HD was causing the device to crash ever 2 min… sent it back and just got my "refurb" back today…. lets hope they actually fixed it….
houston is where i stay i have a friend that has a ipod 30gb and i always tell him that his ipod sucks and he agrees but getting a 80gb zune costs money he alwasy envys the zune i have i have a 80gb black and it is full of anime i have got like 3gigs left so he is so jealous bacause he watches a lot more anime than i do
