Microsoft’s Zune 3.0 scheduled for 2009?

Ever wanted to hear some good news about Zune so bad you'd post basicly anything? Sure, I know that feeling. So without delay, here is a one liner that give no source, no links, nothing more than speculation...

Apparently Microsoft Franceâ€™s Francois Ruault stated in a French newspaper that Microsoft was planning to release the Zune 3.0 in both the U.S. and Europe in late 2009.

You could head over to Wordplop, but there is not much more to read than this one liner. Personally, I'd hope and expect to see a "Zune 3" before 2009.

well, i’m still in love whit my zune 80, but if a new comes out, and is way cooler than my Zune 80, i will bought it, and give this "old" 80 to my father

that would be just like microsoft wouldn’t it, put out crappy slow bug filled software/firmware and then not update for 2 years. yup, sounds about right!

By 2009 people would have forgotten about zune… they need to come out with some larger capacity models before then for sure.

hmmm Soccerfreak24: Not really.But i gotta admit that they do need to come up with some larger capacity models soon ^^ Eventually they will come ahead with the zune 3 so i can’t wait to see how that will look like

One reason Zune will NEVER take over the market: iTunes! That’s it. Zune Music service sucks, that’s all there is to it. My iPod works seamlessly with my Mac Mini and your Zune’s never work with Vista.

I hope that microsoft won’t wait until 2009 to release a new zune. I want one before the holiday season of 2008. I was just wondering though, what will the zune 3 4gb and 8gb versions look like. Will microsoft just make a big zune phone and not introduce a small new version to compete with Apples new ipod nano 3gen’s screen. I have an ipod 3gen 8gb (traded in my old zune 30 it was too big) and was going to get a zune 8gb untill I found out that the screen was smaller so I got the ipod instead. I miss my old zune. I loved the custom wallpaper and the fm tuner. I had a zune before other people even new what a zune was.
