Should Zune Originals charge for customization?

I HAVE A ZUNE is asking this question today. I have to admit, it's been hectic for me lately and I have been meaning to get back here and report this...

As you can see above, Brittney, my daughter had me to order a new Zune Original for her. If you recall, she broke her 1st Zune and the Green one I bought her to replace it is being given away here. She saved up her allowance and Report card money to get this with her own coin.

So, I HAVE A ZUNE and Zune Boards are reporting these charges, what do you think? Me personally, I don't see a problem. I say this only because the price of the Base Model Zune has been lowered, but with these charges, the Originals remain at the same price they started out as.

For the price they are charging as to other places is dirt cheap, I pay 35.00 CDN just to get my last zune etched; luckily I do my own design, most places charge 80.00 an hour for a custom design plus etching, also you’re getting a bunch of well know and well designed artwork, so for an extra 10 or 15 bucks it’s not a big deal.…you want quality you have to pay for it.

One thing you need to take into consideration is the fact that the zune 8 had a price reduction. Therefore, ordering the engraving puts it back at around 200 dollars.. the original price. Although I would prefer it be free, i’m alright with the price.

Artists have to get paid some how. Not sure how MS worked all the stuff out with the different artists though.

I think its ok, as long as they dont charge a bunch.

Honestly, they should provide a discount for people buying through Zune Originals, it seems their quality control for Originals is worse.

I’ve gone through two now, both with dust under the screen. In the three months I’ve owned the device, I’ve only actually had it for one month. The rest of the time it was either “in repair” or being shipped for repair.
