Im the kind of person that goes for the under dog, and zune has taken a big stand against the dominant ipod. It seems to me that everyone who has an Ipod is so blinded by what else is out there, and they simply get an ipod because its simple and their friends have it. The new Zune's have really stepped it up from the 1st gen, and I think they definitely have a chance, but Microsoft needs to step up their advertising campaign a bit, because not enough people are aware of it. Everyone who has seen my 80GB Zune wants one, and they all agree its better than their Ipod. I totally agree. Apple didn't just launch from their ipods and sky rocket their sales See, it took them time too. and btw maybe cause no one else were selling them they were even fortunate to have the market right now. Think about it.. who needs 3G when you already have it on your phone? It's gonna use up all the battery on the Itouch or w/e Music and phone at the same time that's a lot of Apps and ofcourse the battery is gonna run out. My opinion but i rather have a phone with 3G which i already do, had it for about YEARS. -Helio. and a music player. And about the flat rate of sales of 1million? That was like last last year man. Come on. Just give it more time and you'll see the difference. Over the years I've seen more and more zunes appear at my school and around the community. I even have a neighbor that has a zune, close enough to my house that our Wifis can detect each other. Now can an ipod do that? Zunes has its ups and downs but Saying that Zune has no Potential in life, is just messed. Why would Bill gates well he stepped down, why would Microsoft keep on selling the Zunes? Because of the Improvement they've been getting. My guess is that they are gonna become the second in the market share by this year and then live its life on. From last year, Apple Improved 12% and Microsoft Improved 184%. Just look at those numbers how can that not be a chance or the start of success? & Plus apple website not only deals Ipods but Macs too. While the zune website only deals zunes. Windows and Mac Os’s has their ups and downs.

What's the Zune's excuse? You can't even buy it where I live. It's almost as if MS is continuing this for nothing more than the sake of inertia. We're talking about a music player with flat sales (1 million per nine months), almost one-twentieth of the market share as the iPod, very low name recognition, and no international exposure (except for Canada). Look, as a Mac user, I know what it's like to wallow at 3% for years. But Apple had a better quality OS and a far better rep; they were able to dig out of that hole by lowering prices and making a superior product even better--and they've had to fight against a behemoth which locks users in with major hardware/software investments, something the Zune doesn't have to fight. Here, I see you guys getting excited about new colors, 3rd-party accessories, new kinds of backside etching art, and the possibility that someday the Zune might in some ways catch up to the iPod Touch. On the Apple side, people are excited about 3G, the App Store, GPS, Mobile-Me with Push Email/Contacts/Calendar, and a 60+ country release. Is there really any hope here? It really looks like MS is not putting even a fraction of the effort into Zune that Apple puts into the iPhone and iPod. It's almost as if they really aren't that dedicated to it.
