Well, the new blue/red zune 120's didn't last very long. For anyone that has been to www.zuneoriginals.net , you may have noticed that they have taken off much of their color selection. Heres what their down to:
Zune 4: Black/Pink
Zune 8: Green/Pink/Red/Black/Blue
Zune 16: Green/Pink/Red/Black/Blue
Zune 80: Red/Black
Zune 120: Black
The question is, is this true? Could these removed colors have simply sold out of stock, or is this just an error? Hopefully it gets worked out soon, with Christmas just around the corner.
UPDATE: The 8/16 models can now be purchased in every color once more!
Just something I was wondering. Simple question, What Zune forums do you call yourself a regular in? You can select multiple choices.
Personally, I read the browse the Zune.net forums, but rarely reply anymore. There are so many whiners in there. I also browse ours here and there, but I am rarely logged on lately. I also enjoy Zuneboards and Zunethoughts as well.
ZuneOriginals has just been updated, now allowing customers to purchase the 120 model in both blue, and red shades.
Being the images of the blue zune 120 had already been found through the zune software, this is no surprise. The question is, where is the white 120 gig?
As if releasing the 3.1 update wasn't enough, Cesar Menendez from ZuneInsider has just announced that both the flash zune's and a few zune accessory's will be receiving price cuts!
Just in time for the holidays: a flash-based device and accessory price cut for the US and Canada. You may have seen some chatter last week about lower priced devices at certain retailers, well we are happy to “officially” announce that the lower prices can be found at Zune Originals and all our major retail partners (all prices listed in USD, and are only suggested prices). Check the list:
And here's a look at the new pricing:
Yeah, so this happened. My beautiful brown Zune all of the sudden developed what looks like an impact fracture in the screen, even though I know it never sustained any impact. I left it sitting in my car in a hard-shell case one evening for maybe an hour, and when I came back out and powered it on, this is what I saw. The only thing I can think of is that it was kind of cold out (low 40s) and that maybe that had something to do with it. Just doesn't seem right though. It still works, press play and it functions, but the screen is clearly done.
So is there Zune repair out there? I'm sure it's out of any warranty it ever had. Are replacement screens available if I wanted to brave a repair attempt myself?
This makes me sad. And it WOULD happen to me just as the pretty new games are being released in the 3.1 update.
*Sigh*

Welcome to another GotZune product review. I'll be taking a look at DLO's new portable speakers, and before anyone says anything, yes, these speakers are advertised as iphone speakers. However, they easily work with any mp3 player, so I thought I'd check them out. These are fun little portable speakers, designed for use on the go.
- Play your iPhone music and videos in room-filling stereo sound - even turn your iPhone into a speaker phone;
- Use with batteries or with included AC power adapter;
- Portable speakers and base fit together for quick and compact travel;
- Extra-wide sound stage and bass vents for lively, spacious stereo sound
I have gotten several notes from readers asking why I haven't given away anymore Zunes lately. Enough of them that it warrants a post.
All the Zunes that I have given away here, excluding the Blue Zune 8 which was given to me by Microsoft, have been purchased by me out of my own funds. Why? Two reasons to be honest, the 1st is building a community. One of the things most people love is the chance to win. It brings in readers that might not have known about the site until the contest. The other reason is kind of sappy. I sincerely want to see Zune succeed. I still do. When someone that only knows one thing gets to try another thing, they are willing to give it a chance and may end up liking it. That said, I like to get these out there to give others a chance to try things. Those are the reasons I gave away so many Zunes. Notice the word "Gave"? Yes, I don't really plan to have many more contests here, if any
Sorry for this. I still want Zune to succeed, I still love my Zunes. I still plan to share my love for Zune here on this blog, but I can not spend my own money on contest prized to evangelize for Microsoft anymore.
PS. I will have the video/photos of the Goods and Orange Zune that I bought for my personal collection this weekend for sure.
Okay so if Microsoft didn't spend all that money on those "crappy" (yes I said it) Bill Gates & Jerry Seinfeld commercials, they probably wouldn't be making budget cuts. And now this reporter [Brier Dudley] from the Seattle Times Newspaper is saying their will be no more Zune software updates as they get rolled up into other Microsoft service offerings. Could this be true?
I have to say, Microsoft is sometimes aloof in their ad-campaigns that don't communicate properly to the consumer. But this would have to be a big mistake. Are they going to just let the iPod killer fight ride itself out or find something else to sink their money into?
More ranting after the jump.
Yes, I know, it's been kinda slow lately. I've been a tad busy. I enjoy my Zunes, I enjoy Zune all together, I don't much care for the "Social", but all in all I'm still a big cheerleader for Zune. It's been slow in the Zune World lately though. The little news out there has been touched on. We even broke a story or two, but most wouldn't know it the way other sites crap on us. Oh well.
Anyhow, just wanted to say hello, we're still here. Are you? Let us know.
