As you might have seen in the "" post, I am wrapping both of these contests up early. Sorry to anyone that didn't make it to enter.
I also need to apologize. There are less cases left than I thought and they are all for the Zune 80/120. The 4/8/16GB usable cases are gone. I am really sorry for that.
Anyhow, the 5 winners are:
Juice702, Ozzy Gomez, Leif902, vuurflits, and Dragonx C39
Contact me via the contact form with your name, mailing address and phone number and i'll get these out to you asap.
I am just ready to be done with this, so I am moving up both of the contests. The winners of the "The "Before I Go" Zune Case Contest…" should be picked tonight if I get a chance. (Son has baseball game tonight) The winner of the Blue Zune 8 is being announced RIGHT NOW...
Drum Roll Please.... Out of more than 350 comments, The winner of the Blue Zune 8 is "drew Henson". I picked comment #92 because I was chatting with a friend named Matt Miller and was talking to him about how I need to visit Whidbey Island next time I am in Seattle. I was stationed there in 1992. Drew, contact me via the contact form asap with mailing address, phone number, etc...
About the Future of GotZune...
I got a great response to my call for someone to take the helm so I can bail. These details will work themselves out behind the scenes and those involved will let you guys know. Hopefully my last post will be tonight when I announce the winners of the cases.
What has GotZune Done?
I am very proud to announce that GotZune jumped out FAST in the 10 months it's been online. We have over 500 RSS Subscribers. We average 1100 unique visitors a day and just over 2k page views a day. I have received over 100 emails from Youtube users thanking me for showing them comparisons between iPods and Zune in a non-biased (if that is possible) way. I feel that GotZune has done a good job covering the Zune World in a different way than a typical blog. It was fun and I am very happy that at least the readers appreciate the efforts put forth here. This appreciation is evident in the emails and comments here when I announced I was stepping aside here. Thanks.
Where does Chris go?
Well, nowhere really. You can still check me out on my personal blog or Mobilitysite. I might throw a rant, rave, or video of Zune stuff on either of those two. I might eventually buy a 120gb Zune of my own and do the 101st Zune 120 unboxing on youtube or something. Thanks for all the support of GotZune over the last 10 months. I hope you enjoy the folks that follow in my footsteps here.
Congrats "Drew Henson" for winning the Zune 8!
UPDATE - Ended contest early.Â
I have a stack of Incipio Zune cases that we've reviewed here at GotZune that I have been waiting for the right time to give away in a contest. Well, since I am stepping out of here, this would be that right time... Right?
Simple... I have various cases for various models. (no 30gb cases though) So, rather than hold several single case contests, let's do it like this. Just reply to this thread with what Gen 2/3 Zune you want to protect and I will go down the list of the cases and randomly pick winners. If the winner I pick has the model I looking for a winner for, they win. If not, I go to the next random entry.
Deadline: September 16, 2008.
I am very excited about Zune. I still love my Zune 80 and I still want a Blue Zune 80 or 120, but I am going to step down as the driver of Gotzune. We have a great following and I would hate to see this blog die because of my choice to stop evangelizing here.
If you are interested, hit our contact form and tell me about yourself and why you'd like to blog on GotZune.
The Blue Zune Contest is still on and the site is not being sold, I have just made a personal choice to step down.
UPDATE - Contest Closed Early. Thanks for all the entries.
OK, so I have to admit that I am disappointed that there is not a blue color choice for the Zune 120 or even the Zune 80. It is cool that they made a Zune 8 in blue, but I can't use an 8GB player so it does me no good. I would unbox it and all that good crap, but someone already has and... well, you've seen an 8gb Zune, so why bother eh?
Well, because of the fact that it does me no good, I am going to throw mine to one of you Mardi Gras style. Just post a comment here on this post and you are entered to win. Since these blue ones aren't "supposed" to be available for purchase yet, I will get this one out pretty quick. We'll make it a quick contest. Deadline will be September 12th at 3pm CST.
I currently own 7 Zunes and I have give away 10-12 across my sites, and now I have this one. This 8gb Blue Zune the 1st Zune that I didn't pay for. This one is the only one Microsoft has provided me and will probably be the last.
So, just leave a comment and cross your fingers on September 12th, 2008. Make sure your email address is reachable. The prize is only an unopened Blue 8gb Zune. No service is included.
Paul, who happens to be sitting next to me as I type this, has posted a couple videos on Qik...
Very few updates for me the next couple days, I am at the Zune building in Redmond today with some fellow Zune enthusiasts.
We have myself (gotzune.com), Patrick Heffner from Zune Tracks, Jason Dunn from Zune Thoughts, Graham Skee, owner of AnythingbutiPod, Drea from Generation Zune, Harvey Chute from Zunerama, Mike Fosmire (Zune MVP Lead), Gary Wilson (Business Group Lead), Paul Colligan the podcast guru and owner of Zuneluv, Nevelle Williams (solar257), Stephan Shipman from Ihaveazune, Cesar Menendez (Zune Insider), and several Zune team members presenting. (Jessica Zahn, Dave Jones, and more).
Not much to share right now, but we are providing input to the Zune team and being briefed on upcoming changes that are no doubt exciting. And yes, this photos was taken with an iPhone.
I had a great 3 day weekend and hope you guys all did to. I tried to stay disconnected most of the weekend but I failed. I did have a great time practicing baseball with my son. His 1st game is tomorrow night. He hits awesome, but throwing is lacking. Anyhow, Happy Labor Day!
Im sure you've heard about the 120gb Zune leaked from the FCC. well ACE over at ZuneBoards posted some pics he saw on Zunited. here they are:
The backing is black now! Very sexy if you ask me.

If you remember back in July 2008, Hansup Yoon sold ZuneBoards for $62,000 to crowdgather and is finally getting some media attention over it. He could have possibly held out for more cash since monthly revenue generated from the site will increase with crowdgather advertising. Well either way its good to be young and the proprietor of a marketing transaction.
Now for the million dollar project Hansup!
SANTA ANA, Calif. - Young entrepreneur Hansup Yoon, 15, recently sold his creation ZuneBoards, an Internet forum devoted to Microsoft's Zune media player, for $62,000.
The teenager, who lives in Fullerton, Calif., created the site months before Microsoft introduced its answer to Apple's iPod in 2006.
"It was the most perfect time to start a Web site about Zune, and I was one of the first few to create a Zune-related site," he said.
