I really hate starting a new site and having troubles, but this affects all of my sites on both servers, so nothing I could have done to prevent it.
I am so sorry that we were down today. I am mad, but what can I do. We were at the mercy of the hosting company, who was at the mercy of the phone company, who was at the mercy of some idiots that cut into 72 fiber optic cables between my town and Birmingham, Alabama.
Anyhow, this fiber cut took the hosting company down. I am dissappointed, but for 7 years, I have used this company and have only had problems that were the fault of heavy traffic or my own mistakes. Not to mention they are local and it's great keeping that big payment in the local economy. I am just wondering why the ring that carries the traffic from the host to the hub in Birmingham was not on a protected ring that switches paths when a fiber is cut. Oh well.
Anyhow, it's great to be back. I was really having withdrawals.
Got Zune is looking for a few good men… and women!
What are we looking for?
Basically Zune Fans that want to share news, views, and experiences about the Zune with others.
The ideal candidate would also get the priveledge to review accessories, cases, software, etc for Got Zune.
What are the Benefits?
Paid Medical, 2 weeks vacation… wait, nevermind. Benefits? What benefits? You would be part of a team of folks that enjoy the Zune and want to share the social with others. This should be compensation enough, right?
The only real requirements are the following:
If you are interested, Contact Chris. Tell him all about yourself. Why do you want to do it? Do you have any experience? Tell me about your Zune. You know, all that good stuff.
Update: My To Do list is almost complete for today...
Now it's time to sit back, shut the world out and fall asleep listing to some driving metal in my ears at ungodly volume!
Here is a digest of all the cool things we posted today!
That's a lot of posts... please don't expect everyday to be launch day.
To get your Zune Card to work on a website where you can inject the code, use this. Ignore the link... Just use the code.
Thanks to everyone that has visited so far! We have had over 1000 unique visitors already. For a new blog, that thrills me! What's pretty cool is 200 visits from Google, ALREADY. In case you didn't know this, we just came online Saturday Night. (The old coverage is from Mobilitysite.com, import for the win!)
No matter how you found us, I am glad you did and I hope to see you around quite a bit!
Thanks!
If you are interested in taking a look at the user manuals before you head out to get yours tommorow, here are some links courtesy of Zune-Online.
If we can live up to the hype and become fan worthy, you should be proud of being a fan!
The 1st person to email me an NON PHOTOSHOPPED snapshot of your new Zune with our Got Zune theme, you will become a Got Zune Immortal. I will create a page on this site and link it with your photo and name for all to see who the original Got Zune Fan was!
Hopefully we can crank out more of these soon!
No, No... I don't have a Zune yet either... But I do have something I have wanted for a long time. A Zune Blog!
Got Zune is a Blog about the Microsoft Zune. Got Zune has been a long time coming. It’s now, finally, alive and kicking. Got Zune will feature news, tips, reviews, and discussion about the Microsoft Zune!
Got Zune will not replace Zune reporting here at Mobilitysite at all. Just like Tiltsite.com, Got Zune will be a lot more detailed than the general Zune Reports we give here. The site will interact with Mobilitysite and will share the same Zune Forums that are already in place at Mobilitysite.
What took you so long?
Well that’s a good question and I will be 100% honest. When the original Zune came out, I was really excited. Being a Microsoft MVP, Mobile Devices, this was something was really looking forward to. Here is where it gets kind of sappy… A good friend of mine, Jason Dunn, created Zune Thoughts. Plain and simple, I didn’t want to copy nor compete with a friend. I had thought about it but I procrastinated long enough and Jason beat me to the punch. I was really busy with my other sites that I didn’t really mind though.
Weeks and months have gone by and as we approach Zune 2 Launch, I really wanted to help the Zune Community with my own gig. I revitalized DAPsite.com (previously DellDJsite.com), but I really didn’t want to cram Zune down the throats of a general DAP site. I created another blog with Zune in the title, but it took a week to type it in. So I decided on GotZune.com. Yippee!
My Zune Evangelism has already been noted!
Even though this site is brand new, I have been hot on the trails evangelizing the Zune. When Zune originally launched, I was at the store buying the hell of them. I bought 3 the 1st day. I ended up giving a couple away too.
I covered the launch in detail on Mobilitysite.com and my Youtube videos showed many the glory of the Zune! My Video 1st Look and Microsoft Zune 2nd Look received 1000’s of views and I have gotten over 200 emails asking more about Zune and many emails thanking me for turning them on to Zune.
Who is behind Got Zune?
So, far, just a couple of us! Read the About page to see who...
