iHOME RELEASES WORLD’S FIRST CLOCK RADIO DESIGNED FOR ZUNE DIGITAL MEDIA PLAYER
Zune Owners Can Now Wake to Music Stored on Their Device
iHome, a leading provider of innovative speaker solutions today announced the release of the first offering in a new line of speaker systems developed exclusively for the Zune™ digital media player. The new ZN9 Dual-Alarm Stereo Clock Radio features the great sound, high quality and array of features that define the company’s extensive product catalogue.
Before I share some info about this review over at Anything But iPod, let me tell you about my only experience with an iHome product. Simply put, I returned the iHome Alarm clock for the iPod the next day. The alarm functions were week, the audio from the speakers weren't very dynamic, and there was little to no bass response. I wanted this to work for my wife's ipod so she could listen to her music and I could use the alarm clock. Both functions were not ideal for us after trying them. I ended up getting her a JBL Dock and I got a cheap alarm clock from Wal Mart that works fantastic.
Graham Skee over at ABI reviews the iHome dock for the Zune and he didn't seem to care much for it...
Pros
- Easy to see if the alarm is on
- Two alarms
- 2 / 5 / 7 day alarm settings
Cons
- Dock inserts are hard to change
- Remote not included $20 extra
- Poor build quality
- Zune remote does not work with the dock
Vendor: Incipio
Price: $19.99
One of the 1st things that anyone needs to do when spending a decent amount of cash for a gadget is to protect it. Cases, cleaners, screen protectors, etc... When the Zune 80 hit the streets, there really were not many options other than the "Zune Branded" Black case. Now that some time has passed, there are more and more cases becoming available. One of them is the Incipio Flip Case I am presenting today.
This classic design offers great access and excellent protection. Your Zuneâ„¢ has to be ready for today's fast paced world. The Incipio Flip case is up to the task. The Flip case is made of premium supple leather on the outside and soft micro-suede lining.
Features
- Made of high-quality, premium Top-Grain Leather
- Easy access to all buttons and features
- Clear shield protecting the screen
- Backed by Incipio's lifetime warranty
3 Months ago, I shot some video of a few cases from Incipio for the second generation of the Zunes. For some reason or another, I have a whole new batch of Incipio cases, so I decided why not do another video. This time I have 7 Zune 80 Cases and 5 Flash Zune cases to show you. These can all be purchased from Incipio at MyIncipio.com
Some of these cases have even been reviewed at GotZune already too...
Read on for the videos and check back for reviews on several of these, I have one coming soon myself.
From now until June 30th, you can score any case from Speck for 50% off by using SPECK50 as promo code when checking out.
Head over to Speck Products.
The kids over at Zunerama got their hands on the iHome ZN9 and have tons of pics and a pretty thorough review written up. It's the first clock/radio designed specifically for the Zune. Check it out!
It's not shipping until June, but it is available for preorder now at iHome. This is the dock that Cesar shared with us recently on Zune Insider.

You can order it from their site (well, preorder) for $99.00 with free shipping right now. Head over there now for more info.
Meet the new ZN9, the world’s first clock radio for Zune. The ZN9 features several innovative solutions, including wake and sleep to your Zune™ music or AM/FM radio presets, a 7-5-2 feature for separate weekday and weekend alarm times, and an extra large, backlit LCD display with dimmer.
With our Reson8 speaker chambers, you’ll be able to enjoy stereo sound around the clock. The new ZN9… treat yourself and your Zune right.
Since the Zune 2 launched, we have seen some great items come out for the Zune 2, but there has not been a ton of cases. Belkin is changing that. Thanks Belkin.
Before we delve into the sharing of this review by Zunerama, let me share my feelings about the price. I will prelude this by saying that I have enough coin to splurge on my tech toys, but no way in hell I am going to spend $350 bones on a dock/speaker set up. Sorry Kicker. I know from experience that you guy have some great car audio products, but come now... $350 for this. Wow. (for the record, I prefer JL Audio for my auto audio needs)
So, anyhow... Thanks to Zune Boards for pointing me to a review at Zunerama...
We're pleased to see Kicker enter the Zune stereo market with this compelling stereo system. We're awarding the ZK500 our "Recommended by Zunerama" rating.
It looks like they have adapters for all the Zune models and they are reporting that the sound is not distorted at higher volumes. That's good.
Well, to read the review, head over to Zunerama or head over to Kicker for more info.
There has been quite the absence of quality Zune 80 cases out there, but the flash Zunes ( Zune 4 and Zune 8 ) have had quite a few releases. Anyhow, I was quite excited to hear that Incipio was finally throwing down some Zune 80 cases. I have 3 Zune 80 and 3 Flash Zune cases to look at and I have recorded a couple videos to show them all to you!
Here are the cases I am taking a look at today:
