Video 1st Look - Incipio Cases for Zune 4, 8, and 80

z_128a There has been quite the absence of quality Zune 80 cases out there, but the flash Zunes ( Zune 4 and Zune 8 ) have had quite a few releases. Anyhow, I was quite excited to hear that Incipio was finally throwing down some Zune 80 cases. I have 3 Zune 80 and 3 Flash Zune cases to look at and I have recorded a couple videos to show them all to you!

Here are the cases I am taking a look at today:

Mysterious Zune case… hmmm…. weird

Stephan over at I HAVE A ZUNE just posted a photo of a UZC (Unidentified Zune Case). I know that UZC's aren't supposed to be real, but this one doesn't look like a hoax. He seems to think it's the case from some unannounced gaming Zune to come... We shall see.

  • Where are the Zune 80 cases?

My Zune 30 has a gorgeous red leather case from Vaja. It is called the Vaja Balance for Zune. I emailed Vaja after I received my Zune 80 GB in November 2007 and was disappointed to find out they would NOT be offering a case for the Zune 80 GB.

    zune in case

Vaja has for the Zune 30 GB the following: i-volution, balance, classic, classic top, and classic top retro. For more information on the Vaja cases for Zune 30 GG visit Vaja Zune 30 GB cases

For the 4 GB and 8 GB, Vaja has the i-volution Grip and Grip with hook. For more information visit Vaja

I was hoping Vaja might change their mind an offer a case (sigh), but it looks like they are focusing on other devices.

So what are you using to protect your Zune 80? I need a case...and there isn't much to choose from!

I was looking for portable media player for my workouts and I got the Zune (dig the large screen). I just couldn't settle for stock plain color, so I designed the funky skin and decided to give it away. All you have to do is have it printed by DecalGirl.com or any other company, it's usually around ten bucks. I put instructions inside along with the matching wallpaper, so it looks like the skin continues from the screen. Send me pics if you use it!

  • Cases.com - Starting to Get Zune 2 Cases

    logotype2

One of my long time partners and a great company has answered our request to start stocking Zune cases. Let's not make a liar of me. I told him that there are plenty of Zune owners looking for more case choices. There really haven't been many Zune 2 cases yet.

Cases.com has a few Zune 2 cases from PDAir up and available and quite a few Zune 1 cases now. Right now, it's mainly PDAir cases, which are good, but they will let me know when they get in some from other companies.

Microsoft to Gobble up Logitech? Good or Bad?

Logitech_logo Luigi dropped me a line pointing to an article at PC Pro where they talk about a Microsoft targeting Logitech for a takeover.

Speculation is circulating that Microsoft is planning a takeover bid for peripheral maker Logitech.

The software giant is reportedly considering a bid worth just over $9 billion for Logitech, which is currently valued at around $6.3 billion.

This would mean that Microsoft would become the hands down leader of computer accessories. Is this a good thing. As much as I love Microsoft's products, I don't really think this would be. Logitech makes some impressive products and lots of them. Would Microsoft hinder the progress at Logitech? Doesn't competition breed excellence? If Logitech is under the Microsoft Umbrella, who does that leave? Just Belkin?

Even if I don't think it would be overall great, It would be huge for Microsoft and Logitech investors. In fact, this rumor alone pushed Logitech stock up 12% already.

Buying Logitech would make Microsoft the world's largest maker of computer mice and give it a significant presence in the speaker and gaming hardware markets, potentially tying in with its Zune music players and Xbox games console.
