Ok, Susan and I both planned to buy the Custom Zune 80 today. Well, that plan fell through since they won't be on sale until December. I mentioned here that I was going to go ahead and get one, so Susan couldn't be outdone and she ran out to get one too.
Stayed Tuned for our 1st Impressions... The 1st thing I can say as a teaser is that the Premium Earbuds are AWESOME! The best "Comes with the Player" Earbuds i've ever heard. Now these are no Ultimate Ears, but they are pretty damn nice.
Anyhow, later today I will have some photos and such for the masses.
When I saw the personalized 80 GB Zunes weren't available until December, I decided to go ahead and get one now. Walmart and Best Buy had only the 4GB and 8 GB Flash Zunes, but I was able to locate one at Circuit City (in the stock room).
I tried to change my Zune Card Status to "At work listening to Zune" and it told me I had a restricted word.
I removed work thinking that Microsoft was being cute... nope. Removed Zune and now we have, "At work listening".
Why in the heck would Zune be restricted?
Update: Zune Team Member, Tonic, says that it's about the brand. He uses Zun3 instead.
To get your Zune Card to work on a website where you can inject the code, use this. Ignore the link... Just use the code.
After spending a few hours with the Flash Zunes now, I have one thing to say about the Zune Pad, IT'S NICE!!!
When you 1st try to use it, you WILL be spastic. I promise. After some practice, you can scroll with pinpoint accuracy. When you 1st try it, you'll miss where you want to be by 2-4 items.
Sometimes the Zune Pad thinks that I am pressing up or down instead of center press. That's the only issue i've had and this will probably be just a "get used to it" deal.
Over all, it's a huge improvement over the Zune 30. I don't like the noise that the Zune Pad makes when you click. I am not talking about the audio noise, I am talking about the mechanical "click" sound. I wish they could have made it silent.
I've done alot today already, but there is more more more to do...
I have already gotten 3 Flash Zunes, activated them, but haven't sync'ed any. I have obviously updated the Zune Software on both desktops and main laptop. I have flashed my white Zune 30 to 2.2 software.
Yup, it's finally here. Microsoft decided to improve the "social" experience by adding their own community forums. Check it out here!
I have gotten it all set up. Zune 30 running 2.2, Zune 4 Running Zune 2.2... Software updated and all this good stuff. Now off to work to play, play, play!
Zune originals are available to order!
Currently you can order a 4 GB or 8 GB Zune, and select custom color, art and inscription (up to five lines)
